For the Love of Ireland

Day 323

I’m having great fun watching via Facebook as a friend visits Ireland and experiences for the first time some of the places and things I love:  The River Liffey and Ha’Penny Bridge in Dublin, Trinity College Library, and that wonderful Irish accent.  As she observes, “Dublin seems to have been continuously retrofitting itself since medieval times.”

It’s hard to believe it’s been a decade since I’ve been there – the Celtic Tiger has boomed and gone bust in that time.  Maybe if I’m a good girl and save up this year, I can make it back next summer . . . apologies to Tennyson, but in the summer a not-so-young woman’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of travel.
